BIZ GROWTH LIVE TELECONFERENCE – MONDAY 14 AUGUST (TODAY):
GUEST EXPERT – THERESE RYAN
HOW TO MANAGE YOUR WORK LOAD TO OVERCOME OVERWHELM
1PM EST (NEW YORK) / 6PM BST (DUBLIN & LONDON)
=============================================
Do you find yourself sometimes with a “to-do” list so large that it seems never ending? Does this lead to you feeling stressed and overwhelmed?
Or perhaps there are other things that trigger your feeling stressed?
For me that happened just yesterday. We arrived here in Spain where we are spending the next month (part work and part vacation), only to find that the phone line is not working.
This has meant that for the last 24 hours we have been hearing the noise of an alarm monitor going off (EVERY 60 SECONDS!) as the alarm for our apartment can not connect to the monitoring centre AND we have not been able to get onto the internet or make phone calls.
After a long day of traveling with the three little ones, that was all I needed.
Fortunately I have a husband who is unflappable (usually) and resourceful, so we managed to find some “work arounds” to the technical challenges.
But that one little change to what I expected to find did cause me undue stress – hopefully we will have the problem resolved in the next 48 hours.
In this week’s conversation, I will be joined by Therese Ryan, stress management expert, who will be addressing our questions about how to manage stress. You can find out more about Therese here.
During today’s call we’ll try to answer as many of your questions as time allows.
And as a member of the “Biz Growth Live” community you’re already registered for this call and you can submit questions before or during the call using the link here.
If it’s your first time joining us on a teleconference you can find guidance notes here.
Attendance is limited to 100 attendees and is on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the presentation. This pre-call announcement does not ensure your place.
To secure your spot, please dial in promptly as we will start on time.
PERSONAL REFLECTIONS
I have recently been planning for a new website for a forthcoming business venture – its an exciting project I am working on with a new member of the Oneocean Ltd team.
One of the first things we did was to research the key words we are going to use.
In case you don’t know about key words, they are the words that people use to find you on line.
I remember my first ever web site – I was so proud of it and all the work we did to position our brand on-line.
But my web developer did not tell me the secrets of being found on-line. There are many and I have learnt by some costly mistakes in terms of what not to do! Let’s just say I don’t work with that web designer any more!
On my first website I had written the copy without considering what the key words would be – the words that were in my copy were not the ones that my potential clients would type in to the search engines to find services and solutions that I provided.
This was really disheartening – I was going to have to go back and re-write my copy or implement additional search engine marketing strategies.
I learnt most of what I know in search marketing from Jessica Bowman, a wiz in this field – you might recall a “Biz Growth Live” interview I did with her some months ago – you will find it on the archive page if you want to listen to it again.
Ideally, when building your brand on-line you should work with a web designer who knows all about search marketing, but many web design teams are small practices and don’t have in-house search marketing expertise.
However you can find out the key words for your business through free tools such as Good Key Words.
Once you have identified the key words for your practice or service, you need to integrate your key words into your web copy or when writing your blog. Ideally you should have just 3 key words per page of copy of your web site and those key words need to be replicated 6 or 7 times a page.
If you want to know more about keywords, you can also join my friend Andy Wibbels (another past expert on “Biz Growth Live”) who is hosting a free teleseminar for the preview of his forthcoming programme “Key Word Essentials” – you can find out more about the programme here.
You might even want to suggest to your web master or website developer to invest in this programme, as I am sure that by learning this key element of search marketing, they will be able to enhance their service provision to their clients (including you!).
FEATURE ARTICLE – BUILDING YOUR BRAND BY LEVERAGING YOUR STRENGTHS
How long does it take to build a strong brand?
That’s often a question I get asked, and of course there is no straight answer as it depends on a numbrer of factors.
In recent the recent survey by “Business Week” and “Interbrand” of the strongest global brands, the youngest brand featured in the top ten was 25 years old.
However, I’m not suggesting that it will take you 25 years to be seen as a leader in your industry with your ideal clients.
Far from it! Our clients in our “Biz Growth Academy” programme, reposition their brand on-line and off-line and establish themselves as the expert in their field, filling their professional practice with their ideal clients and expanding their professional and personal success in less than 12 months.
One of the strategies we deploy, is to make sure that they stay ahead of their competition by further developing their expertise.
But I am not talking about a development plan in the traditional sense – focusing on the areas you are not good at.
I am referring to leveraging your strengths: finding ways to further build your capability in the areas you are already strong and then finding ways to integrate your strengths into everything you do.
There is enormous evidence that by doing just this, you will fast track your success – building a business on your strengths and the things you are passionate about, can there be a better way of earning a living?
Research by the Gallup organisation demonstrated that less than 17% of people actually use their strengths every day.
So here’s your assignment this week to further strengthen and build YOUR brand:
- Determine what areas you are strong and passionate about
- Find a way to use these strengths EVERY DAY, be that with a client, a team member or with a strategic partner
- Identify how you will further develop your capability in your unique strengths and put in place a plan to do so in the next 6 months.
Note : Focussing on our strengths is one of the areas we will be covering in our forthcoming live event “The Business Spa”, a business retreat for business women I am co-hosting in October this year. Details of “The Business Spa” can be found here.
FEATURED RESOURCE – HOW TO SELL MORE BOOKS AND INFORMATION PRODUCTS
Are you an author or aspiring author and want to sell more books?
Did you know that the traditional method of “in-person” book signings with authors is fast becoming out-dated.
If you are an author you will know that it is critical to have a marketing plan that you implement if you want to sell enough books to cover the advance you receive from your publisher or the investment you have made in self-publishing.
One of the fastest, easiest and most convenient ways to reach potential readers and sell more books, particularly if you have written a technical book, is by hosting a virtual book tour.
You might remember the virtual book tours I hosted with some guest authors this year as part of their marketing plan and building their brand globally – Andy Wibbels and Andrea Learned.
I learnt most of what I know about hosting a virtual book tour from one of my business mentors, Alex Mandossian.
Alex has a new programme launching soon, all about how to host your own virtual book tour, and this week on the 17 August, he is hosting a teleconference call as a preview to the programme and you can attend for just US$20.
I can guarantee that the call will be filled with great guidance and advice that you can implement including:
- Why the traditional book marketing and promotion sales model is now obsolete…
- How to ‘repurpose’ your content to access more profits with very little effort…
- How to ‘outsource’ to reliable vendors so that you can focus on selling more books…
- How to build your own on-line lists, even if you’re just starting from scratch…
- The precise step-by-step blueprint for doing your own Virtual Book Tour – from the comfort of your own home or office…
You can register for the US$ 20 teleseminar here.
Don’t forget to enter your VIP Discount Code is: ‘VBT-3964′ (this saves you $79 from the normal $99 investment for this call).
So if you want to sell more books (or information products) this is a teleseminar I highly recommend you attend – I’ll certainly be there.
