Build your brand through your ezine – part 2

Following on from our last article, here are 8 recommended areas to include in your news letter.
- Use your ezine or news letter as an opportunity to share your own personal reflections of how your business is developing - in professional services, your own stories not only make you more accessible but also can assist in providing examples of what to do or even what not to do. Strong brands create interest through memorable stories.
- Write a content rich article so that you are providing useful information to your readers – you can of course link the content to your products and solutions and have a strong call to action at the end of the article, directing people on teh action they should take if they need assistance in the area you have written about.
- Include a link for people to connect with you to share their thoughts and feedback.
- Have a link so that they can easily forward the news letter to their friends and colleagues – in other words a recommend a friend link.
- Ensure that you have a copyright notice and the details that you want people to include if you are giving them permission to reprint your article.
- If you have a blog, ezines are a great way to drive traffic to your blog and increase your site rankings and therefore building your online brand. You can post just part of the story in the news letter and then continue the article on your blog if people want to read more. Do however recognise that in todays workd where we have so much email people may scan your news letter and not always click through to another link.
- You can use your ezine to provide your newsletter/ezine readers with special offers therefore building a community and demonstrating that you value them being readers as we do with “Biz Growth Express” and our “Biz Growth Live” community – all strong brands build communities.
- Include a list of recommended resources for your clients – these may be a mix of other partners or your own products, services and solutions.
I do recommend that you research other news letters in your industry and those outside of your industry to get a sense of what you think your readers would value – and of course you can ask them for their input on what content they would appreciate, how frequently they would like to hear from you.
Remember your ezine needs to provide value for your readers – it is not all about YOU!
