My own submission was quite technology focused this year, probably due to the shift in the direction of my business to increasingly working with clients to build their brand online.

Without a doubt the brand that has had the biggest impact on me over the last few years and the one to which I feel most loyal is the big ‘G’… yes, Google. And not just for their search engine but for their complete suite of online services without which my business could not now operate. Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Spreadsheet have completely changed how we run our virtual office.

After that I would say Nokia. My first phone was an Ericsson (before they joined Sony) but after that I got a Nokia and would never now change simply because I’m a tech geek and love the amount of technology this company is piling into their new phones. I lost my Nokia 6630 last week the pain of which is much alleviated in the knowledge that I now have the perfect excuse to go buy a Nokia N95. That’s the incredible new top-end model that really does ‘have it all’. It’s their first phone with built-in GPS navigation… a geek’s fantasy phone ;-)

James – yes Google and Nokia were actually two of the brands that have impacted me and my business in a positive way in the last year.

It’s interesting that you can turn the loss of your phone to a positive – I just hope you had all the numbers in your mobile backed up – I know I don’t!
