How easy are you to business with on-line

I subscribe to many ezines and publications and am constantly tweaking and evolving my own ezine, “Biz Growth Express“, with the intent of making it more effective and helpful to my community or readers – to develop a strong brand the first thing is to get started (don’t wait for perfection) then evolve and develop.
If you don’t have an ezine (on-line newsletter). I certainly encourage you to create one as it is great to support building your community and keeping in touch with clients and propsective clients.
Here are three key errors I have seen in ezines over the last week that I think are worth noting:
- an ezine that did nothing other than promote the company – this in fact came from one of the leaders in event management in Ireland and their ezine promotes where they have been, what awards they have been given and new appointments to their team. All great for reinforcing how wonderful they are and why they are market leaders, but I am less likely to read it as it’s not providing me with information that can assist me in being more effective in event management.
- an ezine that had an email mentioning that I could find their new ezine on-line – this came from a leading internet marketeer. Well he may believe that his name is big enough to get people to click through – but in todays world where we are time poor and some of us still have dial up connections, you need to provide readers with a sense of what treasures they will find if they click through to another page. The chances are that people won’t take the time to click through and may get frustrated with your email notifications that they unsubscribe.
- an ezine where the marketeer had promised value in a blog post, but the link clicked through to the main blog – I had to search for the article referenced and in fact could not find it. If you are going to redirect someone, make sure that you are taking them exactly where you want them to go.
So why not take a look at you ezine as you prepare it for distribution and make sure that you are providing useful information for your readers and are making the reading experience an enjoyable and easy one. This will support you in developing a strong brand that is easy to do business with on-line.
