The quarterly bulletin compiled by AMAS in association with the Irish Internet Association has recently been published and highlights from the report include:

  • 24% of web users say they shop online
  • 52% of European consumers say they are more likely to purchase a product if they had read positive comments from other consumers on blogs and other social networking sites
  • And while there are almost 500,000 subscribers to broadband (twice as many as in mid 2005), still only 61% of Irish businesses have access to broadband verus the EU25 average of 75%.

The report also features predictions for online advertising to double from todays estimate of €62.6 million.

In conclusion, if you are not yet building your brand online and have customers build buzz for your products and services on the internet, you are likely to be impacting your potential for growth in 2007.
