We are into the awards season again for the Internet so for those of you who are based in Ireland, you may want to mouse over to the Business and Finance Golden Spiders Awards site, sponsored by eircom.

The Golden Spiders are an annual event honouring Irish individuals and organisations for their outstanding achievements online and celebrate the successes of the Irish Internet and digital media.

It is great to see this year that in the listing of 23 categories, some of the new categories include best social networking site and best blogging platform which reflects the increase in interest and activity in these areas in the last 12 months.

And to give you a taste of what it is like to win a Golden Spider award, you can even watch a short video about the 2006 awards. Perhaps next year thy will add a blog?

Entries close on the 28 September 2007 and the awards will be announced on the 22 November 2007.
