How to reach more clients and expand your network

Becoming the centre of influence and thought leader in your chosen field is an excellent way to build your brand as the expert of choice.

An under utilised strategy by many leaders in professional services is the establishing of your own professional association and network.

I have worked with a number of business leaders who have created a professional association as a deliberate business development strategy. That is one of the reasons I am actively engaged in the founding of a new professional association for a community of experts in Ireland – but more of that some other time.

One of my business colleagues created a professional association as they had no way to easily reach their potential clients. Now their professional association not only showcases them in a way that they are providing value to their members through the monthly events and annual conferences they host, they are also in regular contact through networking with prospects who know of the products and services they make available. And the result is of course more clients!

Creating your own professional association not only positions you as an expert and at the centre of the business network, it can also enable you to build relationships with potential clients.
