Irish employees: addicted to online social networking

Earlier this year I wrote about why Irish employers should not ban Facebook at work so I was interested to read in some recent research by Adminjobs.ie that 94% of employers
said they wouldn’t check employee profiles online.
However it seems as though Irish employers are not in favour of their people spending time on social networking sites: 69 percent of the employers questioned don’t think it’s acceptable to check your social networking page at work and the remaining 31% said that checking your social network ‘once in your working day’ is adequate.

However the 4,000 Irish office employees surveyed disagreed with this and 32 percent say that they would check their social networking page between 1-3 times daily.

1 in 10 of respondents check their Facebook, myspace or Bebo page up to 4 or more times a day.

How frequently do you check your social network profile?
