What time is it?

World Time ServerGrowing a global brand in professional services has its great delights but also it’s challenges – many of those challenges being related to fundamentals like what time is it in the location your client is based.

I’ve lived in 3 continent and worked in over 30 countries in the last 20 years so pride myself of having some sense of what time it is where my clients are, but I do get caught out on the various time zones in the US – you see I’m not too good at knowing the time zones in each of the states.

So how do you make sure that you can make it easy to do business with you, appear professional and not have to ask your client what time zone they are in?

I’ve been directing my clients to using a specific time zone convertor which I went to use last week but realised that it had it’s limitations when I went to check the local time for a client who lives in Portland, Oregon as the service required that I knew which time zone they were on to start with, and i have to admit i had no clue if they were ET/CT/MT/PT!

Then I came across a great free service at World Time Server where you can not only check local times, convert time zones and also compare the time in multiple locations if you are looking to set up a meeting with your virtual team.

If you have a blog or website World Time Server  also provides you with access the code to add a clock or search box to your site.

I’m going to be updating my resources page for my Biz Growth Live teleseminars now with World Time Server as I do think this is a great tool – there is no need to be caught out again wondering if it’s too late or too early to call your client or virtual team and you’ll be sure not to disturb them in the middle of the night.
