Who Are You Nominating For The Irish Blog Awards 2009?

It’s that time of year again when nominations are open for the Irish Blog Awards 2009, this time taking place in Cork not Dublin on 21 February 2009.

I missed the nominations last year as I was on vacation. This year the nominations are open until 14 January 2009.

Here are this years categories – anyone can nominate a blog for the Irish Blog Awards but if you are nominated you can only be featured in one category when it comes to the voting. Blogs need to have been active between July 15th and December 15th 2008. Winners of each category will be sent forward into the Grand Prix category where they will compete for the title of “Best Blog 2009?.

Perhaps with the upsurge in interest and creation in online video I am noticing there will be a video blog category in 2010. In the meantime, which Irish blogs will you be nominating in the following categories?

• Best Pop culture blog
• Best Blog from a Journalist
• Best Food/Drink Blog
• Best Fashion Blog
• Best Arts and Culture Blog
• Best Political Blog
• Best Group Blog
• Best Use of the Irish Language in a Blog
• Best Technology Blog/Blogger
• Best Sport and Recreation Blog
• Best News/Current Affairs Blog
• Best Specialist Blog
• Best Newcomer – this must be an Irish blog started by someone after March 15th 2008, that has been actively maintained until at least December 15th 2008.
• Best Blog of a Business – this must be a blog by a registered Irish business or sole trader.
• Best Music Blog
• Best Personal Blog
• Best Humour Blog
• Best Photo Blog
• Best Blog Post
