With the increasing interest in social media by companies in Ireland, as I’ve mentioned previously, the Irish Internet Association (iia.ie) has established a Social Media Working Group and their first task has been to develop a number of white papers on different aspects of new media – initially focusing on business blogging, podcasting, social networking and RSS.
In December a workshop took place to discuss and access feedback on the draft white paper on business blogging.
At the end of the workshop I had the opportunity to speak with Rosanne Smith of the IIA and Brendan Hughes who is the Chair of the Social Media Working Group and they reflected on their thoughts about the workshops and I also asked them for their predictions about social media in Ireland in 2009.
You can hear what they had to say in the video below.

You can find the current draft of the business blogging white paper online at the IIA Social Media Working Group Wiki and all comments are welcome.
I recorded the workshop and Roseanne has the audio’s which I am sure will be posted online at the IIA website when their offices open after the Christmas vacation.
