UnConferences In Ireland, March 2009: Dates For Your Diary

March seems to be the month for unconferences and get-togethers (unconferences usually being free to attend, sponsored by generous organisations and will usually be a lot less formal than regular conferences).

Here are some to take a note of that are taking place in Ireland over the next month, unfortunately I’m not able to attend them all due to my diary commitments. But I hope they will be useful resources for you:

March 21st – BizCamp Limerick – an event for Irish based entrepreneurs who want to compete internationally

March 25-27th – ACE Londonderry, Awakening Creative Entrepreneurship Conference – an event where Silicon Valley comes to Derry funded through the Arts Council’s Innovation Fund and managed by NORIBIC – The Northern Ireland Business & Innovation Centre. Representatives from the world’s leading creative technology and communications companies visit the region including Palm, Adobe and Microsoft will be attending.

March 28th – Girl Geek Day taking place in Dublin – if you have an interest in technology and are female come along to this event which also celebrates Ada Lovelace Day (did you listen to my podcast with the Founder of Ada Lovelace Day Suw Charman-Anderson? If not grab it HERE).

March 28th – Open Source Barcamp taking place in Dublin – for anyone interested in open source technology.

Networking online is terrific but there is really little to beat meeting people face to face and connecting with the real people behind the Facebook profiles and Twitter avatars.

Be sure to register for the events – while they are free, the organisers do need to know how many people to cater for.
