The future of mobile media and communication – are you ready?

I was reading about a telesummit starting this week called the Laptop Lifestyle where a number of female entrepreneurs are going to talk about how they run their small businesses from their laptop.

It got me thinking about the fact that actually I really don’t like travelling with my laptop. I don’t want a laptop lifestyle – I want a mobile lifestyle.

Last week when I was in the UK I was happy to have my iPhone and my Blackberry (yes I have both – don’t ask!) – I was just missing the free wifi which was no where to be found at the conference I was at.

I have applications on my mobile devices that help me keep in touch, create content and if I chose to do so, continue my online marketing on the run.

Here’s a presentation that caught my attention this week – if you have not watched it then take a cup of coffee and sit back and watch as it’s 5 minutes long. What opportunities are we missing out on if we don’t engage with mobile marketing and the mobile web?

    Laptops and iPhones are the most-tweeted “lost in taxi” or “lost on train” items so I wonder why people who really care about making fast connections lug around their gear on their shoulders or why they place their phones on seats.
